About soul|makers

soul|makers

A movement of spiritually formed creatives healing a broken culture.

The need for culture creators who are deeply spiritually formed and prepared to lead is great—yet, very little is available regarding discipleship and training for artists of faith. That’s why it’s our mission to provide artists of faith with these transformative resources.

While it is essential to encourage and support artists in the local church, this project is focused on equipping the spiritual creatives who will lead from their local, regional, national, and global stage, adding their voices to the broader cultural conversation. soul|makers prepares future generations to take on the difficult work of contemplative leadership both in and outside the walls of churches.

“Over the next decade, the biggest negative disruptors will be young people who are hopeless and connected. The biggest positive disruptors will be young people who are hopeful and connected. The key variable will be the degree of hope young people experience.”

Bob Johansen, The New Leadership Literacies

Convergence

For fifteen years, Convergence has explored the intersection of art, faith, and the human experience. Now, we’re creating ways to share what we’ve learned and connect with artists to shift the cultural narrative.

“It is not only the inner chamber of the heart that should glow with the presence of God but our culture too—our cities, our civilization, the whole of life.”

Robert Webber, Who Gets to Narrate the World?

Be. Make. Do. is an educational podcast with a conversational format that conveys the foundation of the soul|makers path. To prepare the next generation of culture makers, Lisa Smith shares her unique perspective gained from over 20 years of mentoring and ministering to artists. In addition, we'll explore some of the big (and sometimes controversial) topics that come with being an artist of faith.

“If you want to change a society, you must tell an alternative story.”

Ivan Illich
